About

I was born and raised on a farm in northern Wyoming. I was drafted out of college into the Army in the last draft lottery. After serving in the military, I returned to college, but without any clear direction. Prior to that time, I had been directed toward becoming a chemist or doctor. As an undergraduate I discovered my path as an artist.  As an artist, I started out in traditional printmaking, receiving my Master of Fine Arts in 1982. Following graduate school, I taught college art and graphic design for thirty-two years. During that time I regularly exhibited in individual and group invitational and juried exhibitions at regional, national, and international levels. Since 2000, I have primarily devoted my energies toward creating digital artworks. I would categorize my works as photography-based digital prints. All of my artworks are created exclusively from photographs I have taken, with occasional inclusion of purely digitally generated elements such as fractals. To a large degree, I still consider myself to be a printmaker; only my tools have changed. As an artist, all I’ve ever wanted to do is create meaning-full images.

Most of the works on this site are for sale as prints. You may purchase them framed, unframed, on paper, on metal, and on acrylic. If interested in purchasing prints, please click the purchase link in the main menu. Regardless of whether or not you are interested in purchasing prints, I would be interested in your comments on my work.
